About

Our mission is to provide a nutritious meal, in a friendly atmosphere, to anyone who is hungry.

Soup Stop has successfully operated in the Charleston community since 2001. We are a non-profit organization funded entirely through donations and volunteer efforts. Through a partnership with WB’s Pub and Grub, we are able to provide people with a free hot meal. Board members, donors and volunteers work together to serve meals and to-go lunches five days a week to all who ask for service. People do not need to reveal personal / financial information to eat at Soup Stop.

Volunteer

Soup Stop volunteers are the heart of our operation. They prepare and serve daily lunches and clean the serving and kitchen area. You may volunteer daily, weekly or monthly.

Volunteer hours are Monday through Friday 10.30am to 1.00pm. To volunteer call our volunteer co-ordinator Charmaine Owens one month in advance at 217-549-2852

Because our operation depends on each person’s commitment, it is crucial that all volunteers arrive on time for their shifts. Volunteers who maintain their commitments help ensure that no-one goes hungry.

Thank you!
